Facie Recognition with Local Directional Pattern
The most critical aspect for any successful face recognition system is to find an efficient facial feature representation. Most of the existing facial feature is sensitive to non-monotonic illumination variation and also shows poor performance in the presence of random noise. We have analyzed the performance of the proposed LDP feature for representing face under these situations. We empirically study the effectiveness of facial image representation based on LDP for recognizing human faces.
In this work, the performance of our proposed system is evaluated with the well-known image dataset, namely the FERET Database and we achieved good results the four datasets, for instance, fb, fc, dupI and dupII.
